Turl Street site
Exeter College’s historic site is in the heart of Oxford, in Turl Street. Within two minutes’ walk are the eclectic shops of Broad Street and the Covered Market plus some of the best cafés and restaurants in Oxford. The historic site is flanked by Oxford University’s Bodleian Library, Sheldonian Theatre, and Museum of the History of Science, and it overlooks beautiful Radcliffe Square.
The College’s main entrance is on the east side of Turl Street, about 30 metres north of Brasenose Lane. If you are coming by car you may load and unload at the College entrance, but parking is not possible. There are limited public car parks within walking distance, and frequent Park and Ride bus services operate from Oxford’s ring road.
Cohen Quad
In 2017 Exeter College opened a second campus with residential, teaching, research, and social space, Cohen Quad. It is located on the corner of Walton Street and Worcester Place in fashionable Jericho, less than 10 minutes’ walk from Turl Street.
Exeter House
Exeter House is located on the corner of Iffley Road and Magdalen Road in vibrant East Oxford, less than 10 minutes from Turl Street by bicycle or bus.

Arriving by Bus

Visiting Exeter College
Prospective students and Exeter College alumni are welcome to visit Exeter’s Turl St site for free, daily between 9 am and 5 pm, unless there is a special event taking place in the College. The College Library is closed to visitors as it is a place of quiet study for our students. If you wish to see the Library, you must make an appointment with the development office. Please email development@exeter.ox.ac.uk.
Bodleian Card holders and Oxford alumni can visit for free, daily between 2 pm and 5 pm, provided they have their alumni card with them and the College is not closed for a special event.
Members of the public are welcome to visit between 2 pm and 5 pm outside of term time, unless the College is closed for a special event. Entrance is free for children up to the age of 12 and £3 for other visitors. Tour groups can book from 1 pm until 5 pm and must book a slot in advance.
We suggest all visitors contact the Porters’ Lodge on 01865 279600 to check the College is open (and any parts that may be closed) before visiting.
Exeter College Chapel services are open to all and provide everyone the opportunity to reflect and to listen to the College’s outstanding choir, irrespective of religious beliefs.
Cohen Quad is open to current members of the University of Oxford and to Exeter College alumni with appropriate identification. Cohen Quad is not generally open to the public, although public events such as musical or dramatic performances, lectures, or open days are sometimes held there and members of the public encouraged to attend.
